Edge Analytics ("we", "our", or "us") operates the ReelMeal mobile application. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information when you use our app.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you sign in with Apple, we collect:

• Your Apple ID identifier (for account authentication)
• Your name (if you choose to share it)
• Your email address (if you choose to share it)

This information is used solely to identify your account and is not shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

User-Created Content

We store the content you create within the app, including:

• Recipes you save (titles, ingredients, instructions, notes)
• Cookbooks you create
• Shopping lists
• Your preferences and settings

Temporary Processing Data

When you import a recipe from a video platform, we temporarily process:

• Video metadata (title, description, captions)
• Audio transcriptions for recipe extraction

This data is processed to extract recipe information and is not stored permanently on our servers.

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

• App Functionality: To provide and maintain the core features of ReelMeal
• Recipe Extraction: To automatically extract recipe details from videos using AI
• Sync: To synchronize your data across your devices via iCloud
• Subscription Management: To manage your subscription status

Third-Party Services

ReelMeal uses the following third-party services:

Google Gemini AI

Used for recipe extraction and audio transcription. Video metadata and transcriptions are sent to Google's servers for processing. See Google's Privacy Policy.

RevenueCat

Used for subscription management. RevenueCat processes subscription-related data. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

Apple iCloud

Used for data synchronization across your devices. Your data is stored in your personal iCloud account. See Apple's Privacy Policy.

PostHog

Used for product analytics and crash diagnostics to help us improve the app. PostHog is hosted in the European Union (eu.i.posthog.com), and data is processed under GDPR. PostHog collects:

• Pseudonymous user identifier (linked to your Sign in with Apple ID)
• Product interaction events (e.g., recipe imports, paywall views, feature usage)
• Failure diagnostics (error codes, the step at which an import failed)
• Device and OS information (model, iOS version, language) and approximate IP-derived location

PostHog data is not used for advertising and is not shared with third parties. Legal basis under GDPR: legitimate interest in improving the app and diagnosing issues. See PostHog's Privacy Policy. You can request deletion of your analytics data at any time by contacting us.

Data Storage and Security

Your recipe data is stored locally on your device and optionally synced via Apple's iCloud service. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data during transmission.

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as you use the app. You can delete your recipes, cookbooks, and shopping lists at any time within the app. If you delete the app, your local data will be removed from your device.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Delete your account and associated data
• Export your recipe data
• Opt out of optional data collection

Children's Privacy

ReelMeal is rated for ages 4+ and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app is designed to be family-friendly and does not contain any inappropriate content.

Analytics and Tracking

ReelMeal uses PostHog (see Third-Party Services above) for product analytics and crash diagnostics. We do not use advertising identifiers, do not track you across other apps or websites, and do not share your data with advertisers. PostHog analytics are not used for advertising purposes.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
